<me and phoebe

My photographic career began sometime in the early 1990s when I was a teenager. Borrowing my dad's completely manual Canon SLR camera, I used the family dog as a subject and she surprisingly complied. I often forgot to load the film, however, and these photographs were concept shots in the truest sense. Luckily, I mastered the art of loading film and haven't stopped photographing since then.

Photographically speaking, my style falls somewhere between landscapes and portraits. I find it difficult to photograph classic landscapes, I find them uninteresting until a person enters the frame. To me, photography is a means to capture the mathematical symmetry of seemingly random life, to document the visual coincidences of existence.
